  1. This just sux. I have an All-In Wonder 7500 card installed in my system, and it never captures right. I have several capture programs to choose from; Vegas 4.0, MyDVD, Ulead VideoStudio 5.0, and the ATI TV recorder. When I play a video to capture on the pc, some parts play fine, while others get all wavy at the top of the screen, roughly 1/5 of the screen is nasty. THIS IS NOT A MACROVISION ISSUE. The tapes are not protected in anyway, since I made them. Im tired of reading posts and everybody says "It must be a macrovision issue", even if the person says its a homemade video.

Ive read tons of pages for each of the programs, tweaking this and that, and the video image still shows up the same. I then take the same tape, bring it to my standalone Panasonic DVD recorder, and the picture shows up as clear as it should. The only problem now is that it occassionally does screen jumps; freezes for a sec then continues to play.

The jumps dont happen when capturing on the pc, just the damn annoying waviness, so obviously there must be a way for the image to show up as clear as the standalone while streaming through the pc, or there has to be a way to somehow configure the standalone to stop playing around and to record what it sees, and not do the skips. I doubt Im the only one who has had problems like these, so there must be a DVD capturing guru-pro-expert out there who can help remedy all this and make a slew of peoples very happy. Thanx in advance.

My ATI 7500 AIW (as well as a previous AIW 7500 VE I had) is picky about the video signal it gets from the source, and will have some weird glitches on VHS tapes that aren't in great shape. It works just fine on most stuff if I use my JVC HR-S9900U with the built in TBC turned on. My Sima Color Corrector Pro seems to fix most issues with it, too.
