  1. anyone having problems with this prog? i chose the customize option, rather than full disc, because i wanted to get rid of the first few nag screens. i wonder if this may have caused the problem. this is a tv show that im trying to backup and it has 6 episodes, so i just chose the 6 episodes that i wanted. (this worked fine on the non-platinum version)

i made my first coaster using this version , after about 35 sucessful burns with dvdshrink and the non-platinum version of intervideo dvd copy.

    thanks for reading

  2. MediaMonkey, I just backedup "The Rundown" with both InterVideo DVDcopy 2 Platinum and CloneDVD2. I wanted to see the difference in them before I diced on which program to purchase. The quality of InterVideo DVDcopy 2 was amazing.

  4. Does this prog do two pass?

I briefly tried it a few days ago and it appeared to do one pass and didn't look nearly as good as when I ran a deep analysis using DVD Shrink.

I think I have 3 more days left on my trial.

  5. MediaMonkey, I used the "Movie Only" option. I may try the "Custom" option next time, because even though I used "Movie Only" it still backed up the main menu and nag screens.

freestyler, I am not 100% sure, since I only used it once and I wasn't really paying attention to the program while it was working, but I think it did only one pass. I didnt try Shrink, but the quality difference between DVDCopy 2 and Clone2 was amazing. The Clone2 was blurry, even at 97%.

That is interesting. What is left out then? Extras, etc. ?
They should call it "movie, menu and nag screens only

I did a screenshot comparison of a backup done with dvdshrink with deep analysis and of one done with intervideo dvdcopy 1.2. the dvdshrink screenshot was noticeably more fuzzy. until i saw that, i was a dvdshrink supporter, but now im leaning more toward dvdcopy.

  8. Yes, even though the extra menus are there if you click on them the movie starts

  9. I notice sometimes that DVD Shrink tends to soften footage. I still consider softening more favorable than my experience with Intervideo DVD Copy 2 which maintained sharpness but introduced a lot of blocking and artifacts.

I'm gonna check to see if there's a two pass, maybe that's the answer.

How NEW exactly is DVD Copy v2. Anyone know when the update was released?

just got an update from my wife at home. (im at work she said the second attempt went through fine. she did notice some artifacting in the opening nag screens, but she wasnt able to watch one of the episodes. that was the full movie backup that i did. depending on the quality of the backup, i may try and do a backup with movie-only and perhaps one more with custom. it may have just been a bad disc.

  13. I watched the backup I made with Clone2 from the begin to end without a single problem. I only skimmed through the one I made from InterVideo, maybe tonight I will watch the whole thing to see if there is any problem. If anyone finds away to avoid backing up the nags please let me know.

I've had no luck with my upgrade from gold 1.2.Every movie i've tried appears to work ok,but when i try to play the movie in ifoedit,i get an error "warning dvd navigation error was encountered" and it won't play.
At first i thought it was a problem with ifoedit,so i burnt the disk anyway, and it hangs up when i try to play on my dvd player.I went back to gold 1.2 and it works ok.
I can't figure this one out.I was looking forward to the faster encodes and the better transcoder according to their website.I guess i'll be using clonedvd2.

  15. I just tried my backup a Sony DVP-S500. After the first nag screen played, the disc stopped and I got a C13:00:00 error. I hit the menu button and it started fine. I also tried it on a Toshiba 1200 and it worked fine.
