  1. Hello

I was wondering if anyone has had similar issue with this combo? I was getting this error while trying to simulate the write of my DVD to a FujiFilm DVD+RW 4X disc. I still recieved this error when attempting at 2.4X as well. This is a know good disc I had written to it once already successfully and erased the content to put something new on.

Last night I tried simulating using the same source files to a DVD-R disc and it completed successfully. This leads me to believe it has something to do with a "Formatted" DVD+RW disc. The +RW disc had been written to only once and at the beginning of that write Nero "formatted" the disc before the files were written. All went well; then I erased the disc and tried to add new content when Nero reported "Focus or tracking Error". I quit nero and tried the Sonic RecordNow! (or something like that) and was able to write the same files to the same disc with the same writer. So the problem must lie in Nero and the "Formatted" +RW format.

I have a few years of experience with DVD-R & DVD-RW using an A03. I did not know about the "formatting" process of the +RW as this is not required with -RW.

Thanks in advance for any inpue to this issue.

I have been fighting the same problem - the only difference is that I have a DR500.

The problem is with Nero. Appearantly the last set of updates will not let the drives burn + media (R or R/W). You could still write -R media with no problems.

My solution was to uninstall Nero, then re-install from the original CD without doing any updates.

I am now running the original version from CD (6.011) and everything is working again.

    I can burn + Media at 2.4X and 4X.

  3. cool,

I will try that. Thanks for the reply. My drive was very close to being return because I thought it had a faulty lens on it.
