  1. Hi!
I captured a gig from DV-Cam to PC with NeoDVDPlus5. Neo DVD converted the footage to 4 VOB-files, three cotaining 1GB each and the fourth 670MB of data.
I want to make video-DVD with 15 chapters (now there are no chapters) and 'link' the vob files, so that the player plays the gig from start end ( now it only plays apprx 13 minutes at a time, due to 1GB files...
I've tried with DVD-lab, and Ifo Edit, with no results. I'm not familiar with DVD authoring (as you can see
    Any help appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hi zaitcy,

Try TMPGEnc DVD Author, that should do the trick. It's fairly intuitive, and is fully functional on a 30-day trial. Also has it's own burning tool that I've never had any trouble with.

By the way, your identical post in the "DVD to DVDR" forum was in the wrong forum - DVD to DVDR is "backing up" and not authoring (not to mention cross- or double-posting being against the site rules - the ones in big bright colours at the top of the screen when you're posting).

    No problem.

As you're capturing from DV cam (I'm guessing firewire), you might want to look into transferring to DV AVI and then encoding to MPEG2, then authoring the MPEG2 file.

Why? Coz I, and a lot of others, believe that you get better quality that way (using a dedicated tool for each step) as opposed to capturing straight to MPEG. Just an opinion...

...for the steps I take to go from DV cam to DVD disk with menus and good quality. I don't claim it's the best way or the right way as there's loads of ways and loads of different tools. But it will give you a good insight into what you need to do, typical tools and settings.

If only more were as honest / consciencious as you...
