  1. Ok I have this problem with an xvid file that has 5-channel audio. I cant save it as Wav in virtual dub(in full processing mode, no compression). Tmpgenc wont accept the video file as audio source so I cant convert the video file with audio.

Error msg in Virtual Dub: "The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format"

    File info:
    Decompressor XviD Mpeg-4 Codec
    Channels 5(steoreo)
    Compression Unknown(tag 2000)

So I cant convert the file to mpeg with audio. Need help

  2. Wow, that was complicated.
Do I have to go through all the steps? Im making an mpeg for SVCD and cdr?

  3. not necessarily as many steps as the guide. I sill splainify.
    1) Load the video into virtualdubmod , not virtualdub.
Extract the audio like the guide sayds.

Encode your voide and video however you like, choose your favorite method, leave the ac3 track alone.

Quthor in your favorite dvd auth package, or use ifoedit to mux into a dv for free.

  4. Ok, I dont think my dvdplayer can even play xsvcds and I cant burn dvd-r.

So can I just convert the ac3 audio to wav( like they do here https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/160649.php ). And then convert the wave file with the videofile in tmpgenc? Or is that a bad idea? Much worse Quality?

  5. If you make svcd, the sound quality will be great. Assuming the source ac3 was good (probably is being 5.1)

    Go ahead youll be fine.
