Other tutorial for resynchronization of Audio and Video

Does anybody knows an other way or tutorial to fix a loss of synch of audio and video. I find the one here to be unclear and imprecise. If somebody has a better way...

Does it get progressively worse or is it off by the same amount the whole time?

The video I have or should I say the videos, get progressively worse at a certain. I have one concert in SVCD who's chop in four parts and one of the part has a synch problem. I have also notice that when I merge parts of concerts, for example, and they convert it from SVCD to VCD, near the end of the concerts there's a synch problem that creates itself or on one of the precise part I merged.
