Hi. I recently created a subtitle file using Sub Station Alpha. I created a few of my custom styles in it so selected lines will have different colors, position, etc. It's nothing too advanced. Anyway, I now need to convert it for DVD authoring. I am be following the IFOedit guide where it needs SUP files. Is there a program that can convert my SSA file to SRT and to keep all of my styles? I loaded my SSA file in Substitle Workshop and the styles were lost! Any help is appreciated.

  2. Not possible. As just about anyone who produces OGM files with subtitles will tell you, the SRT subtitle format does not support most of SSA's fancy tags. SRT only takes timecodes and text, with some HTML-style accent tags (such as , ). Other options, such as font, color, and position, are handled by the viewer's subtitle renderer (such as DirectVobSub). To my knowledge, there is no way to define custom styles in the SRT spec.
