  1. hi all,

    I want to make a copy of a move that was backed up using dvd x copy. I believe that dvd x copy has some copy procection on it preventing re-copying. Is there any way round this? Ive got DVD Shrink and would prefer to use this if possible.

    Thanks a lot.

  2. You should not want to copy a backup of a movie made by DVDXCOPY. That was 321 Studio's get out of jail way of thinking they were OK but look where it got them.
    I am told on good authority that Nero will copy the backup

    Roxio Disc Copier can do the same, but that wouldn't be ethical and I can't condone it.

    Copy all of the files to your Hard Drive. These files have already had encryption removed and have been shrunk to fit on 1 DVDR. Burn with Nero.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    dvdxcopy is designed to prevent copying backups. there is a freeware program to defeat it. jimmalenko method defeats this and will work also.
    dvdxcopy= fast & easy
    dvd decrypter/dvd shrink= slower, cheaper, better quality

  6. That is odd, I just backed up 3 of my movies with NTI that were backed up with DVD X Copy, worked for me.

    That should probably read "...backup of a backup..." As far as I know, you could always copy a backup, just can't backup a backup with DVD X Copy.
