  1. I have an animated intro clip that I want to look like an old monster movie. I've already desaturated it, but I think it needs some noise added. Was hoping someone out there had a Virtualdub plugin for this, but I can't locate one. Suggestions?

Digieffects Cinemotion plugin for AfterEffects does a great job, but is probably more expensive than you want.

the cheapest way I know would be to find a copy of ParticleIllusion and then do a google search for Elvis Deane's webpage, he has a set of emitters and some scripts to add noise, dust, scratches, etc.

If you can find it, the August issue of Digit Magazine had a full version of pIllusion 2.0 on the cover disc.

but if you can find a Virtualdub filter or another freeware method, make sure you post it and share with the class...

virtualdub filters - these will work just as good as any commercial version:

add (just a few) stains first, then use:

    and your all set ..

I just tried it out, and it works very well. I'm quite happy.
