I am trying to back up my copy of the Long Kiss Goodnight (w/ sam L. jackson etc., <4.35Gigs) and Nero says its not compliant to DVD-Video specs. I also tried to open the disk image in recode and dvd shrink and they both said that there was and error. I think DVD shrink said it was looking for a VTS_01_5.VOB even though that file does not exist on the original DVD.

What gives? Is this a mastering error? anyone know how to fix this?

i dont know if IFOEDIT would do the trick, i've tried to learn it (was a bit complicated) but i have never had a need for it.

thanx in advance for any help.

if its single sided, single layered -- why use dvdshrink at all?

just copy it -- use DVDDecrypter and make a image file and use DVDDecrypter to burn it ..

ya i did use dvddecrypter to make an exact copy, but my point is that the finished product is not DVD-Video compliant. i think its due to a mastering error.

has anyone else experienced this problem with this particular disc?

if it plays (the original) and works fine .. and you make an exact copy .. its not an error per say..

allright, sounds OK i guess (a little shady), but the original works in my player so it should be OK.

thanx for the help and replies.

  8. I am having the same problem. DVD Shrink says "Invalid DVD Navigation Structure". I ripped and burned it with DVD X Copy, but my one player refuses to read it while the other one reads it as a ROM disc, and the Video_TS files are all crazy (like they are most of the time...locked in 16X9 and divided into random chunks, that leave out chunks of the movie).

How do I back this DVD up?

  9. I ripped using DVD Dycrytper and when I try and burn with Nero it says "DVD file reallocation failed". Should I risk another coaster, or is there something else I can do?

  10. Well I burned it anyway and ignored all of the warnings and it seems to have worked. Strange, though...

  11. Why not burn with DVD decrypter if you ripp with it? I handles it's own images just fine and no warnings....

  12. I didn't know you could burn with DVD Dycrypter. This is the first time I have ever used it, because DVD Shrink has never given me any problems (well once, buy AnyDVD fixed that).
