DVD Shrink can't find file on disc

I bought the movie Gothika today and wanted to create a backup. When using DVD Decrypter, the disc transfers just fine. When opening up DVD Shrink, it says that a file 1_7.vob is not found. I reloaded DVD Decrypter but the file is not listed. How am I to find this phantom file? How am I able to backup my new movie?

I had the same problem. The reason is DVD Decrypter.

Try to copy DVD files to HDD with AnyDVD or some other software.
OR better:
Try to use DVD Shrink: open files from your DVD drive and proceed as usual. If your read and burn drives are separate - perfect! You can put the original DVD in reader and blank media in writer and ... go to drink some coffee. (Don't forget Deep Analysis!).
If you have only one drive - don't worry. You should backup your film on HDD drive and after that burn with Nero for example.

I used 3.1.9.0.

Why I thing that Decrypter is the problem?
First I think that DVD Shrink had some problems and tried with the latest release. Same thing! After repeating several times to Decrypt, finally, I launch AnyDVD, copy files from DVD to HDD and everything goes OK with Shrink.

I am using DVD Decrypter v. 3.1.7.0. I downloaded the trial version of AnyDVD and I was able to backup Gothika. Thanks for the help.

Ok, I have backed up Gothika on my hard drive with DVD Shrink 3.17 and tried using CopyTodvd, but I get the message trying to burn... I have DVD Copy Xpress, But I dont like that tracing back info and such....

Type Error: Unable to start the write process - finalization skipped to preserve media

Type Error: WriteSector failed at sector 16(16): Code 00 24 00 (No sense information)

I checked in the forums for VSO Software and said to email for a patch, waiting, but wondering could I use Nero instead to burn it? What version could I use? I hear Nero has some problems... I have 6.0.0.9... and how do you work Nero with Dvd Shrink? I know there is a option where you are done backing up the movie with DVD Shrink it will ask you if you want to burn? Or is it possible to burn without Nero, and just only DVD Shrink? And really you dont have to do a deep analysis, because I have 100% with automatic compression and no compression..... I only left the movie, sub's for english, spanish, and english language....

Oh by the way my burner is a HP DVD Writer 300n.... Please can someone help me out.. Recommend a software or something? I got the catch of re-authoring with DVD Shrink, now just dissapointed that CopyToDVD wont work... Any suggestions on what burning software to use?

Yes, Nero 6 has some problems. You must download the latest update if you want to use it. I preffer Nero 5.5.10.56 - it's enough for me and it is problem free.

DVD Shrink uses installed Nero software to burn the shrinked files. You don't need to do anything, just to have Nero installed. Shrink can also use DVD Decrypter to burn.

better to use shrink & have it write to your HD instead of Nero. Just to check things out.
