  1. I am encoding non-standard VCD's and whatever I do the filesize does not change - I set the bitrate to give me an 80mb file so that I can fit approximately 10 videos of this size on a CD-R but the resulting file is always 110mb - even if I half the bitrate down to about 300kbps the filesize still comes out as 110mb. Does anyone know why this is happening?

  2. Make sure you're not setting the stream type to a Standard VCD or the encoder will automatically pad it back up to the file size you'd expect for a compliant VCD.

  3. Now I KNOW that I have seen this at least 3 times!!!
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

  4. Yes I posted this in a couple of different places, my apologies.
I understand all about padding, and setting to non-standard and also using the unlock template. I have actually sucessfully created files with different settings many times before but now whatever I do the file size won't change whether I use the standard VCD template or a custom one with different bitrates - whatever I do I get the same file size every single time. I am uninstalled and reinstalled TMPGenc and get the same result so I am complete puzzled as to what is happening here.
