I capture my Home movie's with Pinnicle 9 and I do some edits and add transitions and then I make another avi file when done and then off to render to mpeg2. The question I have is when I get done editing and I make another avi file it takes about and hour to render it again. I use the DV Codec but I see I can use a few other one's like Cinepak Codec by Radius or the Panasonic one would this make it faster or will it be a better quality or is it a better way to do this? Thank's for any help you all can give.

I would stick with the DV codec. If your considering changing codecs, then you just as well go to a high bitrate mpg2. But if you have the hard drive space stick with DV avi until your ready to render your dvd.
