hey,
i must have read a thousand guides on converting avi to dvd, and normally this isnt't a problem for me, but now i really need to convert some 23.97 fps vids to DVD compliant streams (PAL preferably)... WITHOUT the jerkiness.
The easiest way would be using Pulldown in tmpegenc, but i ALWAYS get this error message: "The sampling rate is not permitted with selected MPEG-2 level". Any ideas on this?
But as i said, i'd rather convert to PAL, without the jerkiness. The only solution to this that i could find, is to change the framerate in the header to 25fps with AVIFrate. Now this works PERFECTLY. I end up with a nice PAL compliant stream.
Now, ofcourse the lenght of the movie has shortened. So i use BeSweet to change the framerate of the audio stream from 23.97 to 25 fps.
But this is where the problems kick in; i always end up with a PAL audio stream this is LONGER than the PAL video stream, though both of them have been converted from film to PAL.
If anyone could shine a light on this, please
Note that GoldWave is not much help here either, as it either fucks up the pitch or the audio quality...
Maybe there is another way? Any help is welcome
Thanks!

PS: now that i think of it, a lot of Tmpegenc encodes report an incorrect lenght.. is there anyway to check the actual real lenght?
