I am still new to the world of DVDShrink but was wondering one thing (flame suit on)...
When you play a DVD the has been shrunk (say 60%) on a plasma 16x9 tv with a player that has prgressive scan, what will the image look like? Will you notice more imperfections in the image than you would on a normal driect view 32" tv?

Of course you will!!! I also depends on the original compression used when the dvd was produced. When companies insist on squeezing a 3 hour movie into one disk + extras, and then we insist on backing up that movie into a single 4.38 gig disk,,,, well take a wild guess what's going to happen! On the other hand, if it's a 90 minute movie which required minimum compression when they made the mpg for authoring of the dvd, the quality will be much better at the same level of compression in dvdshrink.
it's all relative!!!
All my backups look great on my measly 27" Panasonic. That's not saying that they will look as good on the system your are proposing. Even original dvds are not always optimal. Take a look at the new Disney release Lion King 1 1/2 and even though the film os only like 75 min, you will see color banding in the opening sunrise shots. That happens when the bitrate is not high enough. It's like reducing the 3 of colors on a digital image down to 256 from 16 million. You will see banding in any areas that contain slight gradations of shades. Why does that particular not optimal when it is only 75 minutes long? The answer is simple. The disk is crammed with extra crap so the alocated space for the movie itself is not enough. No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
