I tried to open an m2p file in VirtualDub but it gives me an error message saying that it can't detect video frames. I can convert it to DivX using Dr.DivX though. o_O
What other methods can I use to convert m2p to XviD?

You're welcome. You don't know how happy I was when I found out about it myself.
