  1. Hello.

i am trying to join two mpeg files so i can make a dvd with them. the problem is that they have different bitrates. they go like this:

    part 1: video bitrate: 110 kbytes/sec
    vbv buffer size: 48 kbyte
    fps: 23,98
    audio bitrate 224 kbits/sec
    sample freq: 44.1 khz

    part 2: video bitrate 140 kbyte/sec
    vbv buffer size: 40 kbyte/sec
    fps: 25
    audio bitrate: 224 kbits/sec
    sample freq: 44.1 khz

they are both part of the same file. what i want to do is to convert one of them so it is equal as the other so i am able to join them. i have tried to convert the second to the first, but then the audio looses its sync with the video. i also converted them to avi by using virtual dub, but when i tried to modify the fps, one of them was 23,987xx and the other was 23,987xy so i couldnt join them either..

    what can i do?

  2. I do not think you will have a problem if you import them to tmpgenc dvd author as two seperate files. Tmpgenc will switch to the second onece the first has finished automatically.

Alternatively you could re-encode both files to the same specs and then join using tmpgenc's merge and cut.
    If it's wet, drink it
