  1. Some time ago I remember being able to pause during encoding without having to stop / and start again.
    Does anyone know how?
    Thanks

  2. Just click the TmpGenc 'stop' button. When it asks if you want to abort the current encode, do nothing. When you want to restart the encode, click 'no'.

I think clicking 'settings' and bringing up that dialog also pauses encoding until you dismiss it.

  3. Thanks Bugster.
I should have went on to say that, I already did that...... but, wondered if it is then possible to somehow minimize it to do other computer functions and then maximize and go back to encoding?
I can't seem to figure out how to do that.
    Thanks again.

In the top right corner of the program you will see 3 little blocks, click on the one with the underscore line or you can click on the tmpgenc taskbar icon or if you mean task priority then choose option/task priority/when active-idle time only.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

  5. Thats the problem.
When you click on "stop encode" and then ,say nothing (as Bugster suggested),you cannot click on anything else (minimize, reduced screen, stop etc).

  6. You can minimise it in Windows 2000 by clicking on the show desktop icon in the taskbar. I am sure there must be a similar option in XP, but I am at work at the moment so don't have access to an XP machine.

  7. Here is the tweak for the show desktop icon in XP, I have not tried it so cannot verify that it works.

Its not on my desktop. I assumed it was omitted from XP hence the need for the tweek. I will have to investigate further when I get home.

  12. Me and Daredevil are both right, but also wrong.

Both of our suggestions do the same but replace CTRL for the windows button.

press both of them twice in a row and all windows will be minimized, including TMPGEnc while paused, leaving you at the desktop
