I am assuming you have burned this same project on another brand of media?

If it plays fine with another brand consistently (the same project), I may just break down and agree with you... Of course, there is the off chance that your standalones are just junk, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Just sounds like authoring issues rather than media error or burn errors.

I can assure you that my stand alone dvd players that I've tried the discs on are FAR from junk. Funny how these discs don't work and other media that I've tried works fine. I blame the discs, don't know how I could point the finger at anything but that after all the trouble shooting that I've done. Oh well, like I said earlier, I'm fine with things now (since I've found that my Memorex media is working like a charm).

    You probly got bad batch.
Ritek is as good or as bad as any other brand.

I know its impossible to do what I suggest when buying over internet, but thats why I quit ordering blank media from online stores long ago:
Before I buy 100+ blanks I go to the store and buy just 3-5 pcs of that brand (usually R. G04 in the past year anyway), selecting them from different spots on the shelf, or asking salesperson to give one from top, one from middle and bottom of the pile (if they are behind counter as it is at some smallers stores, i.e. at stores of http://www.canadacomputers.com - best deals in Toronto area IMO).
I burn those at home and if theyre OK, then Im back for the whole batch of at least 100 on the next day morning.
So far I "detected" 3 times some "bad batches" of Ritek G04 in the past year+, while Im buying 100-400 blanks every 2 weeks.
