  1. There is this cool Roxio intro that I want to import into my Sony Screenblast timeline. This file is an mpg one.

When I attempt to import it into the media pool to drag onto the timeline, a Roxio registration for the mpg plug-in to read the file is required. Yet after several unsuccessful attempts at registering, it still will not let me register for the mpg plug-in.

This is the SonicFoundry Main Concept Mpeg-1, 2 Standard Plug-In 1.0 error that popped up: "Error: Unable to connect to registration server. Please verify your internet connection & click retry to try again."

This is the Screenblast error that pops up as well: "An error occurred while opening one or more files. The required plug-in does not have the necessary features unlocked."

    1. My internet is obviously working since I am able to post this msg.
    2. I have retried many times to register. What could I possibly be doing wrong?
    3. How can I go about "unlocking" the neccessary features to get the plug-in?

Is there another way at going about this without having to register through Roxio?

Ofcourse, the obvious way is to burn my video using Roxio, then simply add the Roxio intro in the program.

However, was told since my video file size is too big that I need to shrink, encode, & burn my video using other applications, excluding Roxio. Thus, I can not use Roxio to burn my video. Which is the reason why I wanted to import the mpeg file directly into my Sony Screenblast timeline where I am editing my video.

I really would love to include this in my video. Lmk anyone what I can do.

  2. For anyone else that has had the same problem, I figured out a way to resolve the issue:

Before registering for the SonicFoundry Main Concept Mpeg-1, 2 Standard Plug-In 1.0, disable firewall. After registering, enable firewall again.

    It works.

Now I am able to drag & drop mpg files into my Screenblast timeline w/o a hitch.
