I was thinking about purchasing Premiere Pro and was wondering if it has an Mpeg2 encoder and if so is the encoder any good. Or would Procoder go a better job. thanks

Most people are satisfied with the speed and quality of the Main Concept encoder that comes with Premiere. Since it comes with the software, take advantage it.
To buy Procoder separately, especially after you've paid for Premiere, would be overkill..

Can't say about Procoder, but I think the encoder in Intervideo's Winpro 3 is every bit as good as
Premiere's, and at 1/4 the price.
