I have 3 questions on the latest version (3.1.7.6) of DVD Shrink:
1. What exactly does the "Preferences - Stream Selections" option "Disable all subpicture except menus and forced streams" do in the case of "Full Disc" and "Re-author"?
I typically un-check all subtitle streams except English. If I "Re-author" something with subtitles, I normally go through the manual step of using IFO Edit to insert a subpicture pre-command "51 00 00 00 BE ..." above the Break statement. If I didn't do that, then some players default the subtitles to on. In the case of "Full Disc" I leave things alone because the menus select the correct default subtitle option.
I want to keep the selected subtitle streams, but simply have them off by default in the Re-author mode (not Full Disc mode). That's why I want to know if this option just defaults the subtitles to off or if it removes the subtitles completely (except ones tied to menus and forced streams)?
As an aside, I guess this option implies menus can have subtitles.
The doom9 guide only says "If you don't want any subtitles, check Disable all subpictures except menus and forced streams".
2. Has anyone found a way to un-check the "Combine Shared Titles" option permanently? It always defaults to checked on startup.
3. I can't find the option "Play Video Preview whenever selection changes" which existed in an older version (3.0 b5). Where did that option go or is there no longer any way to automatically play a title when you click on a new selection?
Thanks.

I'm surprised nobody answered this because I found out the 1st question was extremely easy to answer even though it took me a little while messing in IFO Edit. I'll have to dig through the IFO Edit guides to see if any explain how to interpret some of the fields.
Checking this subtitles option merely disables all subtitle tracks except forced upon loading so that they will be stripped out. That's not what I want. It also appears the lack of a Break pre-command is not important, and I still need to add a default subtitle stream off command because the subtitle state is left un-set which bothers some players.
I guess nobody knows the answers to the other 2 questions so I'm assuming there's no way to do it. I also found a bug which looks like the data transfer count doesn't get reset to 0 on the progress window, but I couldn't find any bug reports on that and you'd think everyone would notice. Maybe it's better to go back to a previous version as the only substantial feature I see in the newer DVD Shrink versions is removing the layer break. Hopefully that feature works seamlessly.
