want to edit and save a mpg into mpg...please help

Hi all,

What the best program to edit easily .mpg1 or a .mpg2 E.G.: cut bad scene. and to save the good home movie again in .mpg format?

I own Adobe premiere 6 and I didn t seem to be able to save my movie in mpg1 or 2. any trick?

I also own ulead but with this one I didn t find how to remove bad scene from the movie. any help appreciated if you know how?

Option 1 of many: dvd2avi, vfapi, pull into virtualdub and delete scenes there, frameserve to encoder.

BTW, Prem 6 does export to MPEG. By default it has "Cleaner" which is a miserable insult, but it does export to MPEG. Otherwise, LSX is a great all around plugin for MPEG from Prem.

can you explain me (step by step) how to save in a .mpg format into virtual dub and into premiere 6. Do I need a pluggin?

what codec should I use into Premiere?
Is it this one to make a .mpg 1
ks-mpeg-4 vki codec v1

and this other to make a .mpg 2
ks-mpeg-4 vki codec v2

Just get Ulead Video Studio 5. You can import mpg, edit and add whatever and then save into mgp again without a whole lot of video quality loss
