    I am Capturing DV in my editing program in .avi format. The sound is distorted during the tranfer. I am just using a firewire to perform the capture. Is there something I'm missing out on?

    DV tranfers don't change the sound or the video. The problem may be with the original file or, more likely the software and hardware that is playing it back in the computer. If the sound were changed in the DV transfer, the video would be messed up too, as they are linked together in DV.

    What software are you using to transfer the DV, you could try using something else, such as DVIO to see if it fixes the problem.

    I fixed it, I have two cards in my system. I was using the wrong one. lol
