How do you find out the Bit Rate, etc. of an MPG you've already downloaded off the net?

D/load MPEG Properties, it's in the TOOLS section. Gives total bitrate, video/audio bitrate, and resolution. To determine if MPEG1 or MPEG2, I use TMPGencs MPEG TOOLs 'simple demux', then look at the video out put (don't have to actually run it):
m1v = MPEG1
m2v = MPEG2
