I'm currently running a ATI 64 mb video card. Is it true that a video card with more memory will ease things for the cpu? I understand having more memory when playing computer videos games is a must. Does it make a big difference when converting and making back up dvds or from captures that are made into dvds? Someone told me the more video memory you have it would ease things for the cpu. I would appreciate any information regarding my question. Thanks in advance!![]()

Depends... if you want to run like a rez of infinity by infinity it might help. Other wise a 32mb card with a good chip (such as an ati one) should be fine. I wouldn't worry myself unless your playing games.

Actual video encoding doesn't use the video card hardly at all other than if you opt to preview the video as it's encoding. Software encoding is all CPU. The 64MB video card you've got should be OK if you aren't planning on running any 3D applications or intensive 2D stuff.
