Hello --
I am trying to use ffmpegX to convert a VOB file to a Quicktime movie file on my Mac. I thought it is pretty straight forward but after trying all the Video Codec options, the resulting .avi file still can not be played on the Quicktime player. Quicktime always complains "QuickTime is missing software required to display this movie file. Unfortunately, it is not available on the QuickTime server." or "You may experience problems playing a video track because the required compressor could not be found."
So, what are the proper steps to convert VOB file to be able to play on Quicktime player on a Mac? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

You must install the 3ivx and divx codecs available from 3ivx.com and divx.com sites in order to play avi divx files with Quicktime Player.
