    I am the biggest newb on this site and was just wondering when I would ever need to use a capture card. I have been capturing avi files from my DV camcorder directly to my video editor using a fire wire. The sound is always that great for some reason, but thats no b ig deal to me right now. Any tips?

    Yor firewire card is a capture card.
