    for my laptop, I've used powerdvd and windvd and they both use huge amounts of resources and then just crash.

    I'd be surprised if you're not familiar with VIDEOLAN
    this is FREEWARE
    Earlier Versions will run from a folder
    (NO INSTALL ON THE MACHINE NECESSSAY if you can already play DVD format (mpeg-2 codecinstalled))
