  1. On the shiny, non-purple side of Ritek discs, where it is the shiny silver..can I use a permanent marker to write the name of the movie just like I would with other TDK or Fuji-film discs?
    Thanks for the help!

Personally, I would not put anything on a disk but a hub label.

I use a TDK CD marker to label all my Riteks on the non-purple side.

Hub label??? Could I purchase those? I have had LOADS of trouble in past with full disc labels, now only use a Cd marker, but looks scruffy. A neat little printed hub label sounds cool. And would it interfere with playback as did full labels? What proggie would print them?

  5. Yes full disc lables will cause you problems....I was just informed of that a couple of nights ago. Your dvd may play fine in your stand alone dvd player with the full disc label but when you go to make another copy of it you may end up with errors because your dvd drive in your pc is much more precise.

  7. So will a hub label give you the same results that a full label does?

I have watched this and similar threads on this topic and no one to my knowledge has any complaints about hub labels. The print quality is the same, and Surething has even come out with clear hub labels.

I think it's a personal choice, like matte, glossy, clear, etc.

You can print out as many labels as you need at any one time, one label up to 26 labels.

Hub labels. LOL. Isnt that what I throw away when I put my full size labels on my discs? hehehe. Yea, sometimes I go full label to the hub and sometimes I dont, depends on the picture I have for the label.

Kinda reminds me of the donut holes. LOL. HUB Labels. Thats just too funny really. Dude, just write on the hub with ur marker if ur worried about things.

I have never ever had a problem with labels on my discs and yes I have read all the threads about this. I just scoffed and moved on. Its been 3 years now and still have no problems with them.

Im printing directly to my discs now with my R200, but hey if I do use some labels in the future, I'll save em hub holes for ya.

I write on my riteks with permanent marker.A friend of mine had problems with labels, and dvd's not playing properly. As soon as he took the labels off,no more problems.
Whatever works, and for some people labels don't.
