  1. When I try to burn two 700 mb mpeg files as a dvd video, it starts to encode but it will just stop in the middle. There is no error messages, it hasnt frozen, the progress bar just stops, and it takes forever to even encode the little bit it does. Any suggestions?

Make sure you're using the updated Toast 6.0.3 first (it fixes mpeg encoding bug).

What are the exact details of the mpeg file, is it mpeg-1, mpeg-2 (SVCD or DVD), and what kind of sound.

Also what are all your system details (OS, hardware, DVD-R drive etc.).

  3. the file is an mpeg-layer 1, I dont know about the audio. My computer is a 700 mhz (flat panel 15") 40 gig hard-drive, 256 mb memory. The DVD-RW is an external Hi-Val (in an external casing).
