  1. First of all let me list my system spec.

    P4 2.4 GHz
    533 MHz FSB
    1 GB RAM
    80 GB Harddrive

I've been able to back up my DVD's as well as author DVD's of my own from DV sources. Had no problem until recently. I noticed that when I played back the mpeg2 files encoded by tmpegencPlus my system was really slow. I checked my task monitor and it showed my CPU usage was 100% for just playing back an mpeg2 file. Although I did play it with 2x zoom but this was never a problem for me before. I was able to play any media files (be it mpeg, avi, mov, vob, DVD, VCD) at 2x zoom with no more than 20-30% CPU usage. Oh and I just noticed today that windows media player (version 8) played my tmpegenc encoded mpeg2 files upside down. While mediaplayer classic play the same file correctly. Regardless of which player I used my CPU usage alwasy hit 100%. What gives? Can anyone help me please!!!!

First thing I'd do is make sure DMA is enabled on the drive.
