  1. Hi. I was wondering if any body can tell me what i am doing wrong.
heres my situation. i am trying to convert my svcd that i have recorded onto 2 or 3 different cd's into dvd format to record using tmpg enc, but every time that i try to convert, it tells me illeagle stream type, or somthing of the sort, i cant remember exactly. i have extracted the mpeg out of the disc using iso-buster, and saved it onto my hard drive. what exactly next?
also whenever i try to join the files together from disc 1 to disc 2 or 3, i get a 30 or 40 second gap of audio loss, wher it joined disc 1 to 2 and so forth. what am i doing wrong?
your help is verry much appreciated!
    thanks

Look up SVCD to DVD in the guides, they'll lead you through it step by step.

FYI, you don't need to join them..just author together.

You might try SVCD2DVD, it will do most of the complicated part automatically. Basically, you need to convert the 480x480 to a DVD standard resoluton and convert the audio from 41K to 48K. The delay you mention is common with video that has been converted to SVCD. It is probably an overlap that is added between the two discs that make up a SVCD. At least DVD2SVCD uses this. You can trim it out when you author it with say, TMPGEnc DVD Author.

  4. ok, just tried somthing new. i joined 2 mpeg files together that i have saved onto my hard drive, (never have i put these files on disc) using tmpg encoder, the reason i did that is because i cant figure out how to connect the 2 files together using dvd lab, i keep doing somthing wrong.
anyways, i then compiled the disc as 1 long file, and burned it. what i got was, a good disc, with the exception that where i joined the 2 files, it pauses for exactly 50 seconds then then continues to file 2 where file 1 leaves of.
    help please!
    thanks
