  1. I've 21min of audio from a show I watch and I want to know if there is a way to seperate the dialog from the background music?

And if so what software would you recommend to do this?

I actually don't know if this is possible so I'm all ears, so to speak

I have the audio in *.mp2 and *.mp3 formats currently

    thanks!

You can remove most, but not all with Gold Wave. Select Effects-->Stereo
--Remove Vocals-->Presets. Choose one of the shapes that suit you best.
    Hello.

  3. Tommyknocker,

Good idea. I tried it, but the effect sucks. Due to the dynamic range of most singers voices, too much clipping happens. I suppose that unless we have the unmuxed voice/BGM files, accurately reducing voices remains somewhere in the future...
