There is a similar thread running about creating subtitles for IFOEdit from .srt sources. I'd hate to hijack it about my own different need.

How can I convert an .srt subtitle scipt to a .ssa that I can use with MaestroSBT? (I need to use the resulting stream and script with Scenarist).

    Is there a tool?

    TIA.

You can use SRT2SUB. It has a function of saving .srt files to .ssa.

Thanks for the links. Will try them both.

Used srt2ssa. It gave me the SSA equivalent of the .srt script.

Fed that to MaestroSBT and had my Scenarist Subpictures in 5 minutes.

    Thanks for the tips.

    Baldrick,

I think it's worth adding srt2ssa to the tools sections. I looked in there before posting but it's either missing or I missed it.
