Run the media through DVDInfoPro and see what it says the "write strategy" is as THAT is actually what it is designed to write at. Perhaps the bulk pak was mislabeled.
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space. -
My rule of thumb is that DVD-R blank media reliably write only at half the rated speed except for 1x. Trying to write 4x media at 4x or 8x media at 8x is in my experience begging for trouble. BTW I've burned > 800 video DVDs using Stomp RecordNowMax and have had a grand total of 6 coasters and zero discs incompatible with anyone else's DVD player, ever. All 6 caosters were my fault. (2 caused by lint on the DVD-R before I put it in the drive, 1 caused by a hair that stuck to the surface of the DVD-R, and 3 caused by stupid user tricks playing dumb games with DVD-R authoring. As in: can you mix SVCD and DVD files on the same video DVD? Not without multiple title sets. D'oh!)
