  1. I have an avi (divx) that I'm using TMPGEnc to convert/encode to mpeg2... it got to 97% and then crashed. The percentage completed is very good mpeg2. Is it possible to load the same .AVI back in and start the convert at a certain section? Or is it possible to use TMPGEnc to just work on only a section of the video... I know I can if it were MPEG usting the mpeg tools...but what about an .avi?

I suspect there's some bad frames or other nastinesses where TMPGEnc crashes. Try removing those with VirtualDub MP3 freeze, and save out an error free version of the AVI.
TMPGEnc has a source range feature that can be used to encode only part of a source.

  3. Well... I'm surely not going to re-encode the 97% that was done perfectly... but that source range 'thingy' is what I was looking for! Thanks for the help!
