  1. alright hi,
i have some video and a photoshop image that i would like to place in the video but kind of behind the video so people can walk in front of this image like it was a sign or something in the video to begin with. would anyone know how to do this?

You might be able to do it by duplicating the video track and using a layered mask. But I doubt the outcome will be worth the effort.

Go to www.wrigleyvideo.com for tutorials on layered masks. Good luck.

He has a few that show how to use Layerd masks. I can't remember wich ones, but they should be in the Premiere 6.5 section.

The problem will be that you'll have to key in all the movement of the people. That will be dificult with moving people. That's why they use Green Screens.

Go ahead and download all the tutorials for Premiere, they will come in handy anyway.

  6. alright thanks.
if i put this image behind a video file though and just made the video file transparent to whatever color the image is, could that work as well?

If only it were that easy.

The curcumstances would have to be just right, but if the people were walking down say a solid white hallway. And the people would have a definate contrast to the walls, then you could key in the color of the walls on the video track above the image, wich would be above the main video track.
