I'm currently using TMPGenc to encode in DVD2SVCD but would like to use CCE-Basic. Is there a way to use CCE-Basic instead of CCE-SP or TMPGEnc?

Also, in a previous (unanswered) post, I'm still having trouble where the timecode doesn't advance on my topset dvd player with my burned svcd's. Anyone know what the problem could be? The fast forward/rewind doesn't work either.

    Thanks,
    ChachiFace

The author of DVD2SVCD has previously stated that because CCE-Basic is
quite different internally to CCE-SP it would require a major rewrite to enable
CCE-Basic to be used. I agree this is unfortunate. CCE is faster than TMPgenc and can do more passes, but TMPgenc still produces damn good results I think and the price is great!

pgreed, thanks for answering my post! I can live w/ TMPGEnc but you're right CCE-Basic is faster. Also, I'm still having the issue where I'm not getting a time code advance (00:00:00:00) on my DVD topset player when I play my SVCD. This would not be a problem but for the fact that the SVCD stops playing at about at minute and a half when the timecode finally decides to display. Anyone else see this issue before?

    Thanks,
    Chachiface

Do all of your SVCD's have this problem or just some?
Does the same problem occur on other DVD players?

All of the SVCD's I've made so far have the problem. I only have 1 DVD player (toshiba) so don't know if it would happen on any others. I did get an SVCD from a freind that used DVD2SVCD and it played just fine. I have not yet comparted settings or encoders.

I recommend you try it on other dvd players. Give an SVCD that you made to your friend and see if it plays on his player. The results of all this should narrow the problem area.
