Does anyone know of a program that will automatically break an MPG file into two or more parts to record onto multiple DVDs?
I am trying to use my PC as a DVR. I have a utility that I can use to split a large file but it takes forever.
I would just like to say: "Record this file (at a specific bit rate) onto as many DVD disks as necessary. Please tell me when to change disks."
Thanks for any help. Please note that I am a newbie and that I have searched the forum without success so far.

There are MPG cutting tools available that work with verying success. most cause problems with audio sync.
Sounds like you need a program that will split the mpg's while recording if that's what you are doing.
If your using an analog capture card or TV capture card you might try WinDVR or PowerDVR II.
Both have timers like a VCR and you can set the file sizes to split at a certain point until you fill your hard drive all in MPG1 or MPG2.
Good Luck
