i have already captured quite a bit without problems. i capture at 29.970 fps. usually its only out a little like at 29.971 and i just need to change it to 29.970 to fix it. once in a while it will be at 30.xxx fps and i change it to 29.970 and itsfine again. I just recently captured a vidoe and it was at 30.xxx and i changed it to 29.970 and it shows in virtual dub when i preveiw it, that its still out of sync. so i make it to what it will work which is just a little less than the 30.xxx. then it shows its in sync. so then i go and cut out the commercials and save it. when its done and i play it it out of sync again. it has never done this to me before. once i get it right in virtual dub with the settings it usually works. also when im resaving it im rencoding audio and resizing the video to 512x384. i have always done this so i odnt know whats wrong. the only thing i can think of is that i tried to edit the commercials out, resize video, rencode audio, and fix frame rate at the same time. do you think if i first resized the video and do the audio stuff, then just do a direct stream copy and fix frame rate and edit out commercails would fix this? im pretty sure thats what i did with the other ones that worked but this time i guess i forgot and didnt do that. so would that work or what do you all suggest?

What you should do is change the framerate to 29.97 with virtualdub and then change the audio framerate with besweet. So choose change framerate from 30.xx to 29.97.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.
