    Hi

    I've recently bought a Philips DVDRW824.

    I can play standard cd's and record standard cd's. But when I put any dvd in to the drive, nothing happens! It does not recognise it as a dvd for playback or recognise a blank one for recording.

    Any ideas?
    Hope someone can help..

    Have you got 'DVD' Burning software and 'DVD' Playback software loaded on your pc?

    Yes, I installed Nero as supllied with the drive, and Power DVD for playback..

    make sure your dvd disks are +r or +rw types.
    Always check helpfiles/instructions before leaping...
