I saw one advertised on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2790643564&category=3759
It looks quite cheap for what it implies it does (ie: convert analog video/audio to avi format output (what exactly that means I don' t know) at 720x480 resolution and 30 fps).
Has anyone ever heard of such a device? Has anyone tried such a device?
Thanks,
Icarus

It will capture composite analoge source via usb to avi format fileand/or software encode to ??
Functioally same as other cap devices using software encoding.
Software encoding is very dependant on your system setup, requires much more computing power/resourses than a hardware encoding device.
Many pro's/cons for software/hardware
Hardware ecoders cost more but work well without a highend system, my choice for now. The more powerfull your sys, the less need for hardware encoding.
Hardware encoders can be very propietory as to capture software, once captured though. files are compatible with most all editing software.
