I have been reading many topics in this website, and found out that many DVD-R types when recording on Panasonic E50 have problems. Before going to buy these DVD-R, could anyone please provide what are the best or good DVD-R types that have will no problem when do the recording on this Panasonic E50.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Never had any problems with different media on my E50. I mostly use the CompUSA brand 1X DVD-R but have burned Memorex 4X DVD-R, TDK 2X, and Sky 2X DVD-R.

If you live in the USA one of the BEST recordable DVD-R discs are the MAXELL 4x DVD-R discs that you can buy at Walmart

They recently lowered the price to $16.84 per 10-pack and each disc comes in a full sized CD style jewel case (not a slim case which I don't care for myself).

You can go cheaper but you will not be getting as good a quality disc. You can go more expensive (the Taiyo Yuden 4x DVD-R discs are great) but then you are probably just blowing money.

I love Taiyo Yuden but you just cannot beat the price of these Maxell discs at Walmart.

BTW they are still something like $19.97 on Walmart.com but I found them at a local Walmart for just $16.84 and a few other people have confirmed that lower price as well at various Walmart locations.

But even $19.97 is a good price since the only other alternative is the FUJI branded (look for MADE IN JAPAN on the package) Taiyo Yuden discs which go for $24.99 at BEST BUY in similiar packaged 10-packs.

  4. Left column, dvd recorders has loads of comments on what media to use.

I use Accus, about $60/100 from meritline.com every one plays on any player or writer that I put them in, even a ps2.

btw, avoid princos, they have a tendency to delete data after a year according to some people.
