    Im a non-noob first of all. Is it possible to convert and AVI file to DVD (MPEG 2) ? The reason I posted is that I didn't see any info on the left-hand side in the convert section. Thanks

    Personally I use dvd2svcd(with cinemacraft encoder):

    Er, being a non-noob you should know that an SVCD is mpeg2 and the only difference between that and dvd mpeg2 is the resolutions (Ntsc 480x480 for svcd and Ntsc 720x480 for dvd) and bitrate and surely you have done an avi->SVCD conversion before?

    Once you learn to use dvd2svcd go get the D2sRoba plugin for it and learn to use that (best forums for it are at doom9).
