I have about 6 AVI's (total size=875MB) each of them are about 23minutes long
I've tried VirtualDub, it can only cut out one part at a time (which is a lot of work for me since in each AVI there is a few seconds part I need to cut between scenes)
I've also tried Ulead GIF Animator 5, it takes forever to load (I have winxp pro, xp 2500+, 256ddram, radeon9600pro)
so is there any other decent, free, fast-loading avi editing program?
thanks

Actually VirtualDub is one of the best tools for this and can cut as many scenes as you like, (such as commercials in a long TV capture).
All you need to do is ..
1. Move the slider control to the start of the scene you want to remove and press the 'Mark In' key (the black left hand arrow).
2. Now move the slider to the end of the scene you want to cut and press the 'Mark Out' key (the black right-hand arrow).
3. You should now have a blue bar indicating the scene to cut out.
4. Now just press the 'Delete' key and the scene will be deleted from the current project (Note that this doesn't permanently delete the scene, just marks it as excluded from the current job).
5. Repeat these steps for all the scenes you want deleted from the video, then when all unwanted scenes are marked and deleted, save the AVI as another filename and you will get a single file minus all the unwanted scenes (and you still have the original file untouched).
