  1. Hi, i have two avi files, which i want to join. The avi files are of different data rate so i dont use Virtual Dub to join them, instead i have used DVtool, to join the .avi files. When i get the completed .avi, TMPGenc for some reason doesn't recognise it as one large file, i mean, the joined file is 1.5Gb and is 180mins in length, but when i load that file into tmpgenc it recognises it as only half of the file, e.g it would only encode cd1 instead of the entire film??
I know it may sound confusing!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    thanks

p.s. this happens not only with .avi, but with mpg files too

You don't have a proper join. You will have to encode the files seperately.

  3. Convert your two AVIs seperatly (that's what you do with them in TMpgEnc, don't you?), then join them with TMpgEnc. You have to recode the AVIs if you want to join them directly.
