Hi, i have two avi files, which i want to join. The avi files are of different data rate so i dont use Virtual Dub to join them, instead i have used DVtool, to join the .avi files. When i get the completed .avi, TMPGenc for some reason doesn't recognise it as one large file, i mean, the joined file is 1.5Gb and is 180mins in length, but when i load that file into tmpgenc it recognises it as only half of the file, e.g it would only encode cd1 instead of the entire film??
I know it may sound confusing!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
p.s. this happens not only with .avi, but with mpg files too

You don't have a proper join. You will have to encode the files seperately.
