Cool, I'll have to try that next time I have one to convert.Originally Posted by Wilbert

I had a chance to convert an RMVB file with the above AVISynth script feeding VirtualDubMod. At first AVISynth didn't like the "convertfps=true" argument, but after updating to the latest AVISynth beta and encoding I had an XVID AVI file with MP2 audio and no audio sync problems! Finally I don't have to use EO Video anymore.
Even better, create a VirtualDubMod template like this:
#ASYNTHER RMVB 23.976fps
DirectShowSource("%f", fps=23.976, convertfps=true)
and put it in the VirtualDudMod template folder. Then you can easily open any RMVB file without having to create a new AVISynth script every time. (Use the "use AVISynth template" pulldown at the bottom of VirtualDubMod's Open file dialog.)
I also created one for 29.97 fps:
#ASYNTHER RMVB 29.97fps
DirectShowSource("%f", fps=29.97, convertfps=true)

deletrius, thanks for your guide
Yesterday, I downloaded a rmvb converter at http://www.topvideopro.com/rmvb-converter/convert-rmvb-converter.htm and have a try. It is easy to use. Add your rmvb files and select the output format, then encode.
Maybe help to the users who want to convert rmvb to avi/mpeg/wmv

There was a screen shot got a red arrow in the guide. Dont you drag the moive to the side and convert? I can do that to other formats just cant do it with RMVB....

I am afriad you have to ask whoever made those programs. We usually don't do tech support for someone else's programs, esp. paid ones.
Generally speaking, those one-button-does-it-all type programs have NO options to adjust, thus, if you do need to adjust something, there's nothing you can do. However, that's merely a guess. -
I converted a few files, and they play fine on my computer.
However, on burning to DVD, there is no audio when played in a DVD player.
What've I done wrong? -

This Shoes you how to convert .rmvb files to .avi formats with VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.2 + Avisynth2.5 + Real Alternative
It works for me without any problems -
This thing is taking soo goddamn long... On my dual core processor it takes 2 seconds to convert one second of video. So 2 hour film will take 4 hours to be converted.
I never gonna (legally) "acquire" rmvb file again. :P -

Error reading Real media file. (Err=30810-0)
Can anyone discern what this means or how to fix it? Thanks in advance -
Hi,
If anybody's interested in converting rmvb files to avi, wmv, etc., try wmconverter.
A lady I know wanted to convert a ton of these chinese movies to fit on her zune. This program rmcoverter:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Editors-Recorders/All-Allex-WM-Converter.shtml
works like a charm, is spyware free, costs nothing and easy to use. Takes about four clicks and you're converting movies, I converted rmvb files to mp4(ipod) files. If anybody's interested in writing a tuturial for this progam, please do so, enjoy!
Regards,

For those of you who wants to play rmvb on your TV, but don't want to deal with converting the file, here is the solution.
It's not free, but it's easy to use.

For those who are like me, just now getting movies that are in this format, you don't need to download any programs that you'll use once and then delete right after. Download SUPER. It's 100% free and does what all other video converters CAN'T do for money. Downside is that this program is quite powerful so if the power of your PC is questionable, you may not be able to run it smoothly.
