  1. Hi there !

I have bought a new DVD drive : AOpen DVD 1648/APP.
This DVD drive can't read my CD/RW.

When I put a CD/RW I (with MP3 inside) into it, the PC did nothing. (Usually it is asked with which software do you want to play to)
There was also no message prompt.
When I clicked on the logical drive number (G.
    I got a message : "No disc".

Can anybody tell me what happen to my DVD drive ?
    Whay shoul I do ?

    Thanks.

  2. jkusmanto,

I looked up your CD-RW drive, and it does support CD-RW discs.

Forgive me for asking the obvious question: is the disc blank? If it is, that might explain why it can't see anything.

Otherwise, if it can't read discs that are definitely readable by other players, I think it could be a duff drive. You could send it back for replacement.

Here's the information page, for anyone else who might have an answer:

    Good luck,

  3. Thanks for your reply Cobra,

    Yes, it support CD-RW.
IF you look at the table of Disc Format, there is CD-RW.

Ofcouse my disc is not empty one. I have 104 mp3 files in the disc.

I tried to put the CD-RW to my CD-ReWriter, It works perfect.
Just now I put another CD-RW (just bought 10 pcs) which has 51 files (my data). It was no problem, the drive read very well.

All my CD-RW are written with the same cd-writer.

  4. If the drive reads one CD-RW fine and does not read another one, that would suggest it is a media problem and not a problem with your CD-RW drive. I would bin the disc that's giving you trouble, and forget it.

If you can try another disc of that brand in your drive, you might be able to establish whether it is the brand, or just that disc. Perhaps your CD-RW just doesn't like the dye/crystals (not sure how CD-RWs work) used by this brand, and fails to read them?

If you still have troubles, post back up and we can try to work it out.
