I am trying to back up Finding Nemo (Movie Only but menus intact to allow for scene selection)- and Yeah, I've read all the earlier posts. I don't see anything on this however
My problem is that any DVD & DVDDecrypter (most recent versions of both) both announce that they cannot accurately determine the encryption keys (No weak blocks - DVD Decrypter announces).
I can press ahead and rip the Vob's or just use my prefered idiot proof solution and use CloneDVD. Hoewever the resulting disc will only play the opening intro and menu. Every option you select (including Play Movie) makes the disc spin for a few seconds and then the menu re-appears.
I may well be doing something stupid (damn you, noobie moron!) but this never happened with any of the LOTR backups I made. In each case I have burned main movie, english 5.1 soundtrack (Dolby & DTS) and used the "Preserve Menus" checkbox within CloneDVD and everything works perfectly.
In Nemo the scene selections menu displays but selecting any scene just reloads the main menu.
Any advice? Can I ignore these warnings? SHould I use some other bit of software to re-author? (I've got the Nero 6 with Recode - some are giving it rave reviews but I haven't had time to try it yet)
Hey, call me an idiot and b*tch-slap me if you must but someone please reply.......

Not sure if I read you right - you can't rip Finding Nemo with AnyDVD? I did that with AnyDVD, months ago, no sweat. Run the driver, windows explorer, select all from VIDEO_TS, copy to HDD folder. No problem.
In fact, if it wasn't for the fox head in my toolbar, I wouldn't know ANyDVD was there. It's a driver, not a ripper...
But I don't think this is the issue, because if you couldn't get past the encryption, how would you be even able to play the menus?
If this is a reauthoring issue, I recommend DVDRemake these days, maybe DVDStripper if you have no dough. -

Make sure you select the right title. This may be why there is no movie to play.bmiller,ont.canada -
Rip it with decrypter in file mode.
If you tried that and it didn't work, what are your settings? I just ripped and backed up Nemo last night. DVD Decrypter 3.1.4.0 -

DVDdecrypter worked for me, only last week.
